The 2nd Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action will take place from 24 to 26 June 2025, as a hybrid event hosted in Dubai and online. Under the theme 'From connection to action: moving the needle on anticipatory action in the MENA', this edition builds on the momentum of the inaugural platform held in 2024, offering a renewed space for dialogue, collaboration, and action across the region.
Bringing together a wide array of stakeholders, including government representatives, humanitarian organizations, donors, researchers, private sector actors, and local communities, the event aims to accelerate the implementation of anticipatory action in the face of increasing climate and humanitarian risks.
Participants will engage in:
a review of progress on the MENA 2024–2029 roadmap, including lessons learned and regional developments
workshops and training on anticipatory action, impact-based forecasting, and the co-production of weather and climate services
showcasing of regional evidence, best practices and emerging tools
exploration of innovative financing solutions, including pooled funding and engagement with public-private actors to scale up anticipatory action sustainably.
The 2nd MENA Dialogue Platform will foster new partnerships, strengthen regional capacities, and present tangible solutions to move from dialogue to action. The outcomes of the event will contribute directly to the continued development of the Early Warnings for All initiative and the regional roadmap for anticipatory action.
The 2nd MENA Dialogue Platform is hosted by the Anticipation Hub, an initiative of the German Red Cross, the IFRC, and the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre. It is co-organized by the World Food Programme (WFP) and is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Weather and Climate Information Services (WISER) programme (funded by UK International Development and managed by the UK Met Office).
